Another sun sets on Chowdown…
Over 900 people attended this year’s Chowdown and the volunteer cooks did not disappoint, with cod, oysters, prawns, potatoes, clams, octopus salad, halibut, salmon, shrimp salad, and crab. Guests enjoyed complimentary beer and oyster shooters during Happy Hour, and also sampled 3 different chowders at the 13th Annual Jim Myers Chowdown Chowder Challenge; Skybridge Seattle Airport with Chef Jonah was the crowd favorite.

The theme of our 66th Annual Chowdown celebrated the 50th Anniversary of TOTE. We were honored to recognize our long-standing relationship with this champion of the maritime industry with company representative Anissa Stella, a Tacoma Propeller Club board member, accepting a plaque and one-of-a-kind glass sculpture.
We appreciate everyone who attended our Chowdown. Proceeds go to our Memorial Scholarship Program, Sea Scouts, and the Tacoma Seafarers’ Center. 2026 will observe the 90th anniversary of the Tacoma Propeller Club so we’ll undoubtedly have some extra special things planned.
