Beach Bash Update
OH, What a Night!
Those who braved being near the water in 80-degree weather and drinking Blue Hawaiian’s were treated to a really fun and relaxing Beach Bash last Friday! The salmon dinner, especially the grilled corn-on-the-cob, was delicious, and the island vibe with appropriate tropical background music was contagious as we enjoyed the end of the year. And 5 lucky guests took home a lovely, hand-blown glass ornament after touring the Doolin-Rogers!
We also congratulated Laurie Beck with her past president’s pin from international, and recognized our current and incoming board members.
The highlight of the evening was being able to honor our Tacoma Sea Scouts, who work so hard all year long. They not only Present Colors at our monthly general meetings, but help us with our fundraisers, mostly cleaning up! But this does afford them the opportunity to interact with all of you and other local maritime and community leaders. They are part of the best program in the United States, and we showed our appreciation by presenting a $6,000 check to them!
